Role Overview:

We are looking for a creative and experienced writer to help students write college admissions essays that are personal, authentic, and compelling. You will work closely with high school students, helping them share their experiences and aspirations in the best possible way.

Responsibilities:

• Work directly with students to brainstorm, plan, and write original essays that reflect their true voice.
• Edit essays for clarity, coherence, and to meet college admissions requirements.
• Provide constructive feedback to help students express their ideas clearly.
• Ensure ethical guidance by maintaining the student’s personal voice in their essays.
• Manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Requirements:

• Writing Skills: 2-3 years of experience in professional writing or editing. A degree in English, Communications, Creative Writing, or a related field is preferred.
• Admissions Knowledge: Familiarity with college admissions processes and what colleges expect in essays.
• Editing Expertise: Experience in editing and proofreading personal or academic content.
• Storytelling Ability: Ability to help students tell their stories in a clear and engaging way.
• Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to guide students effectively.
• Work Ethic: Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

• Two writing samples that showcase your ability to craft personal or narrative-driven content.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience as a college admissions consultant, counselor, or in a similar role.
• Background in education, mentoring, or student counseling.
• A portfolio focused on personal essays or storytelling.
